I like msn, It's the only good thing micro$oft has made. But the people who use it are...well, not exactly up to scratch on what is annoying to the rest of the world. So here is the definitive guide on how not o annoy people on msn.
1. GREEK TEXT IS NOT COOL!
Infact, whenever I see it, I want to die. But I see it on bebo, MSN and the like. And trust me, spelling out your name (or those of your friends) DO NOT LOOK COOL IN ANYWAY! It looks DISGUSTING, CONFUSING AND TACKY!
2. Simplify your display name:
My personal one at the moment is "[Shedtroll Amaranth] Fancy visual Effects do not protect you". People may choose just their name, or maybe a shot saying or even a line from a poem. What I have a problem with is the ones that go "BOB&DAVE&CARA&BUGSY&ANDSYBOMBABOMBABOMBA(yn)(L)(yn)(L)(yn)(L)(yn)(L)". not only are they confusing, random and all round retarded, they are also confusing and an eye sore.
3. Put brackets around your personal emoticon triggers:
Is that so hard to do? When someone types "Hi" I don't want it in sparkly text! I have custom emoticons but I put brackets around triggers so they do not replace words!
4. Speak English:
Text language is for text messaging, so take the extra one second to type out your messages in FULL ENGLISH. It's not hard to do!
5. Don't click those 'find you who's blocking you' or 'OMG look at this sexy pic' messages:
Incase you haven't noticed, those are viruses. They spread via MSN, So I also recommend you get some Anti Virus software!

To all concerned....
Like so many on this curious thing we call the Internet, I use Social networking. They are handy tools to interact with friends from the comfort of my home. The only problem is this. I have friends who are on Bebo, Facebook and Myspace, and very few of them want to switch from their current one.
So, what am I talking to you for? Well, my current situation is not convenient. Where thousands choose one Social network, I, along with thousands more, cannot. I also do not want to go zipping back and forth, tending to each page individually. This takes time which I cannot give.
I am not alone in this situation, and sure, you would want competition, but this competition is at the expense of your users! Not everyone is willing to choose. Bebo has Great usability, Facebook is clean, open and flexible, and myspace can support HTML, but your users need something more...
I propose that sometime in the future, I (or indeed someone else) will develop an application/widget to link all the sites together, and allow interactivity between the two. You must be aware that disgrantled users DO have the power to do this. The only question is therefore who, and when.
