OK, there's a a lot of people who want to become 'Famous' and 'Traditional' artists, but the Guerrilla and Alt art scene can be just as fulfilling.
OK, the easiest art scene is by far photography, and it doesn't even need to be anything fancy. I personally use a Sony Cybershot P&C camera and I get some awesome results. But you can do some really good stuff with a phone camera (yeah, you heard me).
What you take photos of is up to you, from set up scenes to completely random events. Try different angles and positions as well, like this photo here...
That was taken at the Glasgow science center...
Another easy thing is performance art. A nice little example is the free hugs campaign. all you need is a sign with 'free hugs' and some arms! This both cheers you up and people you hug.
If hugging people doesn't light your candle (or that you just don't have arms) try Guerrilla art in it's many forms...
In guerrilla art you may need some imagination. Guerrilla art is about being subversive. So, you can try things like book drops (where you get a book, put a label in it with 'this book was previously owned by... please pass it on), or the old message in a bottle, where you leave a message for a stranger.
It's been frosty lately, so taken to writing and drawing in the frost. Anything that comes to mind. Give peace a chance, peace symbols, Peace love and Linux, and also...
if power_of_love => love_of_power
puts 'The world knows peace'
end
Yeah, code with a message, bitches.
Art can also be made in the virtual world. Easter eggs, (like the one above you) can be added to code and send around the world. Web design and photoshop (both awesome forms). My favorite has got to be telnet starwars...
Just type
telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl
in a command line window on windows, mac or linux and watch the fun. n_n
